  1. Turn in your Bell Work Spiral
    1. Please make sure: 
      1. Every 10th word is underlined.
      2. There is a box around your SAT word.
      3. They are numbered and dated.
      4. You have written at the end how many you have out of 16.
  2. Pass back graded papers
  3. Week 15 corrections are due tomorrow
  4. Pass Buy Back
    1. Today, during class is ONLY time I will accept these.
  5. Work on your final review/cheat sheet.
    1. Strategies to make the most out of your cheat sheet.

    2. Look at SkyWard, please send me an email with the links to any ZEROS that you have on there.  I will grade them, but they will be counted "late."

  1. Bell Work: Free Write!  (At least 70 words and at least 2 SAT words)
  2. Read this article and take notes on it.  Think of the importance of reading non-fiction.  Do you look at non-fiction reading differently than fiction reading?
  3. "Little Things" by Raymond Carver (read together as a class)
  4. Examining "Little Things" by Raymond Carver
  5. Tomorrow we will grade our Week 14 DRE and get the Week 15 and 16 DRE.  
  6. Your last SAT quiz of this six week will be next Monday.

Week 14, Day 3
Objective: grade level vocabulary, and listening for understanding; revising and editing; AP writing

  1. Bell Work: Explain your favorite ideas presented from the "Perfect School" projects.  Explain your least favorite ideas from it.  (Yes, your entry needs to have at least 70 words, with every tenth word underlined and contain at least two SAT words.)
  2. Begin working on your own "My First Life Line" about a person who extended you a life line.  
    1. Use your Part II (that was SUPPOSED to be homework last night!) to help/guide you. 
    2. You should produce about three pages of text (handwritten or typed, double-spaced) during class.
    3. Due Friday (along with your Writing Assignment #3)
    4. When we are writing in class, there is NO TALKING.  No exceptions.  You will get a daily grade for today and tomorrow.  If Mrs. Anglin has to write your name down as a problem, it will drastically alter your grade.  
  3. Be good for Mrs. Anglin. 
  4. If you were absent on Monday for the SAT Quiz, you will need to take it on Friday sometime (before school, during school, or after school.)

Objective: AP Writing

  1. Bell Work:  Come up with as many palindrome as possible.  A palindrome is a word that is the same forwards as it is backwards.  (Example: racecar)
  2. "My First Life Line"
  3. Responding to "My First Life Line"
    1. Part I-focusing on Maya Angelou's text
    2. Part II-ideas/planning for your own "My First Life Line" that you will write tomorrow.
  4. Tomorrow, you will write your own "My First Life Line." 
    1. Write your own "My First Life Line" paper about a person who extended you a life line.  You should produce about three pages of text (handwritten or typed, double-spaced) during class.  Due Thursday.  
    2. When we are writing in class, there is no talking, please.
