Week 23, Day 2
Objective: Demonstrate familiarity with works by authors in American fiction from each major literary period; Revise drafts to clarify meaning and achieve logical organization by adding transitional words and phrases; Write an interpretation of a literary text that identifies and analyzes the ambiguities, nuances, and complexities within the text and anticipates and responds to readers' questions or contradictory information; Reflect on understanding to monitor comprehension.  Using technology as a tool for classroom discussion.  Higher level thinking practice that is associated with the AP test. 
  1. Bell Work: Discuss yesterday's lesson and the use of allusions throughout everyday life.
  2. Read Tillie Olsen's "I Stand Here Ironing"
  3. Discuss
  4. Do critical thinking questions as a group, if time.  If not, we will do this in class tomorrow.  
  5. Mrs. V will be in tomorrow to discuss the AP test.
    1. English Language and Composition test is Friday, May 10 at 8am
    2. Cost $89
    3. If you have free/reduced lunch your cost is $61
    4. Pay Natalie Steward in the front office
