Week 34, Day 2

Objective: recognize distinctive and shared characteristics of cultures through reading; understand cultural background to literary texts, grade level vocabulary, and listening for understanding.

1. Bell Work: Clear your desk and get ready for your SAT quiz.
2. Grade Chapter 8 Gatsby Quiz
3. Week 33 SAT Quiz (Weeks 24-25)
4. The Great Gatsby final test
1. Paragraph test
2. I will give you 8 topics to prepare.
3. Then, on the day of the test, I will randomly give you 4 of those topics.  From those 4, you will pick two to complete.  
4. You may use your book, handwritten notes, and graded quizzes. If you want to bring handwritten outlines, you may.  
5. Listen to Serial Podcast
6. Reminders:
1. Friday is Awards Day, Senior Pep Rally, and Wildcat Day

2. Try to finish watching "old" The Great Gatsby movie.
3. Pass back graded papers.

2. Chapter 8 Gatsby Quiz
3. Watch some of the "old" Great Gatsby movie.
4. Read Chapter 9 of The Great Gatsby on your own.
1. Take handwritten notes
2. Be ready for a quiz on Friday over Chapter 9
5. Teacher Appreciation Letters...due TODAY by 4:00pm

I'm sorry that I'm out today guys.  Yesterday afternoon I started feeling really cruddy.  Hopefully, I will start feeling better and be back tomorrow.

1. If you want to hook it up to the MediaScape, you can...the volume should be working.  We are on episode 4.  
2. I have it paused on my computer at exactly the right place.  If you want the sub to text me, I'll give him/her my log-in, and you can just listen to it from there.  Not sure who my sub is going to be though.
