1. Pick a controversial issue
2. Find a recent article (in the last month) that supports one side of the controversial issue and another article that supports the opposite side of the issue.
3. The articles you find should be persuasive in nature.  This means that they should try to convince you to feel one way or the other.  If it is persuasive it will not convince you to see BOTH sides of the issue in the same article.

1. Bell Work: If your life was made into a TV sitcom, what would the name of it be?  Describe the setting, plot, characters, etc. of your TV show.  Be specific.  What actors would play the main characters and why? Etc.

Bell Work: Many writers write under a pen name, or a name other than their real name.  Samuel Clemens wrote under the name Mark Twain.  Washington Irving wrote under the name Jonathan Oldstyle.  Write reasons why you might use a pen name rather than your own pen name. Invent a pen name for yourself.
